NYeC Regional Extension Center (REC) selects Rockit Science Solutions as Strategic Business Partner
Albany, NY (August 23, 2010) - Rockit Science Solutions, a premiere IT services company that enables organizations enjoy the same network management, security, and reliability achieved by Fortune 100 companies without needing the same resources or large up-front expenditures, announces today that it was selected by the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) as a Strategic Business Partner to the Regional Extension Center (REC). As a Strategic Business Partner, Rockit Science will provide IT services to eligible primary care providers and healthcare organizations in the greater Capital Region, Northern New York, and Long Island region in support of their efforts to adopt health information technology.
NYeC (pronounced "nice") was founded by health care leaders throughout New York State with support from the New York State Department of Health, as a public-private partnership serving as a focal point for key healthcare stakeholders to build consensus on health information technology (HIT) policy priorities and collaborate on national, state and regional HIT adoption, implementation and optimization initiatives.
NYeC REC is responsible for recruiting 5,100 Priority Primary Care (PPC) physicians and providing each of them with assistance to achieve meaningful use as defined by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Office of the National Coordinator. The REC is responsible for covering all of the upstate and Long Island counties (NYC is served by a separate REC). To assist in accomplishing this extraordinary challenge, the REC has organized a network of Outreach Agents whose task it is to educate and recruit PPCs into the program and Implementation Agents whose task it is to provide direct implementation and meaningful use assistance for providers in the program.
